Hard work was my constant companion; it allowed me to excel academically and proudly become the first women in my family to pursue a professional health degree.

My unwavering commitment and determination led me to earn my BDS degree in India, overcoming significant challenges. I always dreamed of advancing my career and pursuing higher education. After marriage, I was fortunate to move to the U.S. With my husband’s steadfast support—my true pillar of strength—I began preparing for exams, even as I welcomed my first child. This dedication paid off, opening what felt like paradise: acceptance into New York University.

My DDS education was a testament to my commitment, requiring the difficult but necessary step of entrusting my young child to my mother’s care. Post-graduation, I navigated the landscape as an immigrant associate in various dental offices, gaining broad experience despite visa complexities. The turning point arrived in 2022 with permanent residency, enabling me to acquire my own clinic. Today, I find immense satisfaction in practicing dentistry independently, focusing on delivering exceptional, comfortable care to every patient.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

My conviction is that success and struggles are inextricably linked. My experience as an immigrant, transitioning to study at a prestigious U.S. university, was profoundly challenging, yet attainable thanks to my husband’s vital support. I’ve consistently chosen to view these challenges not as struggles, but as chances to acquire new knowledge and skills. This mindset has been instrumental in developing my strong, unyielding character, allowing me to effectively guide, support, and be a role model for my children and those in my life.
